Legacy WM CEO Aftab Rahman recently joined BBC WM presenter Mya Khan to talk about one of our most ambitious international initiatives yet – the 1,000 Homes Project.

The interview gave listeners an insight into the vision behind the project and why providing safe, secure homes for vulnerable families in Bangladesh is so important. Aftab shared how something as simple as a stable home can transform lives, giving families security, dignity and hope for the future.

The 1,000 Homes Project is about more than just building houses. It's about helping communities rebuild their lives, creating safer environments for children to grow up in and giving families a foundation for a brighter future.

We're incredibly grateful to Mya Khan and the team at BBC WM for giving us the opportunity to share the story behind this life-changing campaign and help raise awareness of the difference supporters can make.

I haven't rode a bike in 50 years and that was when I was 10 years old. The bikes have changed and they now have gears for both the front and back wheels. I had the front wheels in 1st gear and the back wheels in 2nd gear which made for a better work out for me. Khalam is great, patient and encouraging and I couldn't have done it or enjoyed it without him. I'm looking forward to a larger group next week as even in the heat there was a considerable breeze throughout. Thank you very much for this opportunity.
