Legacy WM is delighted to celebrate the appointment of our Trustee, Gurpreet Bhatia DL, to the judging panel for the Sikh Sports Awards 2026.

The Sikh Sports Awards recognise outstanding achievements, leadership and contribution to sport, celebrating individuals and organisations that inspire communities through excellence, dedication and inclusion. Gurpreet's appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to public service, community leadership and creating opportunities that bring people together.

A Partner at Harbans Singh & Co Solicitors, Gurpreet also serves as Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, recognising his significant contribution to public life across the region.

Beyond his legal career, Gurpreet is a passionate advocate for culture, sport and community development. He is Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), helping to support one of the UK's most celebrated orchestras, and serves as a Trustee of the Commonwealth Sport Foundation, promoting the power of sport to unite communities across the Commonwealth.

As a Trustee of Legacy WM, Gurpreet brings invaluable expertise, strategic leadership and a deep commitment to improving health, wellbeing, arts and culture across the West Midlands. His work supports our mission to create lasting, positive impact by strengthening communities through partnership, inclusion and opportunity.

His selection as a judge for the Sikh Sports Awards is a fitting recognition of his experience and dedication. We are proud to see one of our Trustees contributing to an initiative that celebrates sporting excellence while highlighting the positive role sport plays in inspiring individuals, building confidence and connecting diverse communities.
