Housing & Sports Development Officer

Kalam joined Legacy WM in October 2022 working two roles as a Housing Officer and Sports Development Officer. Kalam’s most recent employment was at Birmingham City Councils Housing Department as a Case Worker where he picked up the necessary experience and expertise to fulfil his current role. Kalam has served in Her Majesty’s Prison Service for 9 years as a Prison Chaplain, working closely with young people in custody. Thereafter continuing his passion for engaging with young people in a school as Pastoral Mentor.

His commitment to serve the community continues, spearheading Legacy WM’s sports and wellbeing projects. He is currently managing the installments of the Daily Mile in parks across Birmingham. In his spare time Kalam enjoys coaching football for children in the community and also plays in Legacy WM’s very own Veterans Football League on Sundays!
