The Tree Trail

Norton Hall Logo

The tree trail was first created, and a booklet was published by Fiends of Ward End Park in July 2014. The booklet provided an insight into the wonderful and varied trees within the park, some of which are over 100 years old and planted before the area was opened as a public park in 1904.

With the kind permission of The Friends of Ward End Park and with support from the Commonwealth Games, the Dolphin Women’s Centre (part of Norton Hall Children & Family Centre) have revived the tree trail by making it accessible to people of all ages by reproducing the original leaflet and creating a digital version of the tree trail. An exciting an immersive virtual reality artwork has also been created in collaboration with Salt Rd and University College London.

The Ward End Park Tree Tail aims to provide an opportunity to learn, think and connect with the environment and take advantage of the health and wellbeing benefits being outside and experiencing nature provides.
