Gurpreet was born in Sandwell and has been a Partner at Harbans Singh & Co Solicitors since 2000, practising in the areas of Commercial/Residential Property and Immigration Law. He is passionate about community work and has volunteered over the last two decades and serves the region as a Deputy Lieutenant.

Gurpreet is a National Executive member of the Sant Nirankari Mission, a registered charity which works closely with the National Blood Service to promote blood donation initiatives. He has implemented programmes to improve the environment including street cleaning, tree planting and been instrumental in organising large scale international events to promote community cohesion with themes of Oneness, Oneness our Common-wealth and Festival of Humanness.

As a Fellow of the RSA Gurpreet has planned community engagement programmes with RSA Tipton Academy, encouraging connectivity and understanding through the arts and volunteering. He also supports a Sandwell-based community radio station encouraging multi-lingual presenters to reach wider audiences, presenting a legal show himself. Gurpreet serves on the Leadership Committee of the Midland Metropolitan Hospital a £470m Project which is currently under construction in Smethwick.
